§ 106-92. Purpose.

The board of commissioners hereby finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the county to provide for the construction and maintenance of sidewalks in all new developments within the county and to provide for a procedure whereby the citizens of the county can elect to construct sidewalks in existing developments for the use, convenience, and safety of the citizens and pedestrians using such sidewalks. All public roads, whether privately or county maintained, requiring curb and gutter also require the construction of an earth shoulder/sidewalk behind the curb in accordance with the county development standards.
