§ 2-50. Incompatible employment.

  • No officer shall engage in or accept employment with or render services for any private business or professional activity when such employment is adverse to and incompatible with the proper discharge of his official duties. The prohibition of this section shall not apply to:

    (1)

    An officer who is appointed to a regulatory or licensing authority pursuant to a statutory requirement that persons subject to the jurisdiction of the authority be represented in appointments to it; or

    (2)

    An officer whose government duties are ministerial, if the private employment or financial interest does not create a conflict of interest.
