§ 54-29. Personnel; chief.

  • The fire department shall be staffed by persons designated by the board of commissioners. Upon nomination by the chairman and approval by the full board, a person shall be designated as the chief of the fire department, who shall be the administrative head of the department and each fire district. The duties of the chief and all other persons designated by the board as employees of the fire department shall be established by the board. The fire chief shall be a department head under the laws applicable to the board of commissioners.
