§ 2-262. Authority created.

  • (a)

    There is created a body corporate and politic to be known as the Lake Allatoona Preservation Authority, and which shall be deemed to be a political subdivision of the State of Georgia and a public corporation and by that name, style, and title said body may contract and be contracted with, sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded, and complain and defend in all courts of law and equity.

    (b)

    Without limiting the generality of any provisions of this Act, the general purpose of the authority is declared to be that of acquiring, constructing, equipping, maintaining, and operating one or more projects consisting of facilities to be used for the purpose of preserving Lake Allatoona; acquiring the necessary property therefor, both real and personal, with the right to contract for the use of, or to lease or sell any or all of such facilities, including real property, and to do any and all things deemed by the authority necessary, convenient, and desirable for and incident to the efficient and proper development of such types of undertakings.
