§ 118-155. Authority to prohibit parking on certain streets.
Latest version.
(a)
When not inconsistent with this article or any other ordinance, the director of public
safety or traffic engineer is authorized to prohibit parking or stopping of vehicles
on any street or portion of a street when traffic or engineering surveys indicate
that such stopping or parking may impede the free flow of traffic on such street.
(b)
When in the reasonable opinion of the traffic engineer or director of public safety
special events within the county such as fairs or other activities cause the gathering
of large congregations of persons or vehicles so as to represent a hazard to persons
or vehicles using the county roads, he is hereby authorized to place no parking signs
along those portions of county streets where the parking of vehicles would constitute
a temporary hazard to the safety of persons or property. When such temporary no parking
signs are erected, it shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle in violation
thereof.
